OCT UPDATE 2016

OCTORBER 2016 UPDATE
We give thanks to God for yet another time to give you a brief update. This time I am writing in Nigeria where am now on home service. This update covers activities done prior to my travel as well as things that are happening now in the field in Serra Leone.
VISIT TO LIBERIA. Towards the end of September 2016 my wife and I were able to visit Pastor Morries Sonie in Liberia and also conduct a TLT training [the first official TLT training in that country].
TIENI , is the town where Morris is stating. Morris have begun a Christian school in Tieni  a predominantly Muslim community and the first  only Christian school, called Christian Academy
Beside the school in Tieni, a cell meeting have also started in a village closed to Tieni called Gbese. They called themselves “believers fellowship  of Gbsese.

.
THE BOYS BRIGADE:On Octorber 9, Kabala town was full of excitement as the Boys Brigade upon completion of their two months training facilitated by Fwaje Bawa and Bernhard. Celebrated their founders days with a ceremonial parade vis a match pass into the city center. The occasion saw the participation of the military , Boys scots and the Police in Kabala.
.
HOME SERVICE . After the Boys Brigade activities , the next was our home service in Nigeria. We arrived Abuja Nigeria by 11:30 pm , and I was scheduled to preach  on Sunday at 10 am. We thank God it all went well, after the airport , we arrived our lodge by 1 am . Slept for few hours . Was out early enough to preach , with just about 20 minutes late  for church. But was able to get the fine music of the Abuja congregation and then get the notices. Then it was time to preach. Thank God I did not sleep on the pulpit, since it was not my word but the Lord’s the homily was delivered.

Monday Oct. 17, was a rest day , and finally on Tuesday 18 Octorber , we were in the village after seven hours on the road, [ thank God I was not driving]. I now have a schedule of eight weeks of visiting churches , sharing the news about the work in Serra Leone, beginning  on November 6.

EVENTS BACK IN SIERRA LEONE:It was colorful full with excitements as women of the CRC  Kabala celebrated their annual thanksgiving on                Sunday Oct. 23.
While the Women and of course the congregation of Kabala were still in the mode of the thanksgiving , in Least than a week a sad event happened in the church, With the death of Na Tigie Jawara. Tigie Jawara died in the early hours of Thursday Oct. 27[ it was sudden may be heart failure] She is going to be bury on Sunday November 6.
Tigie was a strong pillar of the Kabala Church , she has worked with the Husband in the early years of the CES work in Sierra Leone that gave birth to the CRC  today. She was a great encouragement to Jemimah and the Women in the church. A prayerful woman who respects everybody that comes her way. Very good in times of caring for children of relatives. She cares for all children that live with them even if they are not her biological Children. She was a Deaconess in the Kabala church and was the treasurer of the Women fellowship of the CRC-SL a very industrious Woman.
